Preview: Lyon v Bayern Munich

by setanta.com staff , 27 April 2010

Bayern Munich will be without the suspended Franck Ribery for the game against Lyon in the UEFA Champions League semi-final second leg.

Bayern Munich hold a 1-0 lead from the first leg in Germany last week, but manager Louis Van Gaal needs to wait on fitness test on defenders Daniel van Buyten, Martin Demichelis and Diego Contento, who are all struggling with knocks.

Anatoliy Tymoschuk will miss definitely Tuesday's game with a stomach virus.

"We have many injuries and many problems," Van Gaal admitted. "We hope that they can play.

"We have brought 17 players and if they cannot play, then we will still have 14 players. We will still be able to field 11 players."

Lyon boss Claude Puel is likely to be without both of his central defenders from the first leg. Jeremy Toulalan is suspended, while Cris is struggling with a knee injury.

Jean-Alain Boumsong and Dejan Lovren could return in their places, with the former back in training after three weeks out with a calf injury.

"He trained normally (on Saturday morning), without any ill effects," Puel said. "He will be in the squad."
