Preview: Celtic v Braga (Weds)

by setanta.com staff , 03 August 2010

Celtic will definitely be without Aiden McGeady for Wednesday’s mountainous Champions League qualifier against Sporting Braga.

With the boys 3-0 down after a disastrous first leg in Portugal a week ago, the absence of star man McGeady comes after the Republic of Ireland winger travelled to Russia to have talks about sealing a move to Spartak Moscow.

McGeady, who has been linked with the Russian outfit for some while, as well as with Aston Villa in England, did not feature in last week’s 3-0 defeat either so is free from being cup-tied.

As for the players who will travel, young forward James Forrest is likely to miss after he missed training on Tuesday with a bug. Northern Irish midfield man Paddy McCourt, did participate though, after he shook off a knock.

Mark Wilson (groin), Darren O'Dea (hamstring) and Niall McGinn (foot) are all missing for a game in which the Bhoys are in need of footballing snookers.

Celtic pair Ki Sung-Yueng and Gary Hooper have both said they can outwit the Portuguesae side and progress, but being hinets it looks a very tall order for Neil Lennon’s men.

Celtic (from): Zaluska, Cha, Mulgrew, Loovens, Hooiveld, Brown, Ki, Crosas, Ledley, McCourt, Maloney, Juarez, Samaras, Fortune, Hooper, Murphy, Rogne, Cervi.
