by setanta.com staff , 24 August 2010

Newcastle United are expected to field several youngsters in Wednesday's Carling Cup second round tie at Accrington Stanley.

The Magpies go into the game in buoyant humour after their amazing 6-0 win over Aston Villa on Sunday, but several of thh stars that day should be rested as the likes of Haris Vuckic, Ryan Donaldson, Kazenga LuaLua, James Tavernier, Shane Ferguson and Tamas Kadar hope for rare first-team outings for Chris Hughton's side.

Steve Harper, meanwhile, is likely to be replaced in goal by Tim Krul, while striker Xisco (groin) and midfielder Danny Guthrie (knee) are missing through injury.

Sol Campbell is also not yet fully match fit after a summer off, while Danny Simpson and Leon Best (both ankle), Steven Taylor (shoulder) and Dan Gosling (knee) are long-term concerns.

Accrington manager John Coleman is waiting on fitness news on forward Craig Lindfield, who has been hampered by a groin injury and missed the weekend win over Macclesfield Town.

Rory Boulding is likely to continue to start in attack after getting the better of an Achilles problem, while Leam Richardson is also fit after a long spell out.
