Preview: Motherwell v Rangers

by Setanta Staff , 24 December 2010

Rangers will look to strengthen their grip on top spot in the Scottish Premier League when they face Motherwell at Fir Park on St Stephen’s Day.

The Gers will be hoping to welcome back both Kyle Lafferty and Maurice Edu for the trip to sixth-placed ‘Well. Lafferty has been struggling since breaking a bone in his hand but is waiting to be given the go-ahead to play by medical staff, while Edu may well start despite being hit by both tonsillitis and a knee injury in recent weeks.

Kirk Broadfoot, however, will not feature as he continues to nurse a foot problem.

Motherwell have a full compliment to choose from, save for the absence of the suspended Steve Jennings. The English midfielder has yet to serve the one-match ban he received for being sent off against Hearts, whilst he will be unavailable for another two games after picking up seven yellow cards in the SPL this season.
