Adam among Scotland injury list

by Shane Keegan , 27 May 2011

Charlie Adam has become the most recent doubt for Scotland manager Craig Levein ahead of Sunday’s Carling Nations Cup decider against the Republic of Ireland.

Gary Caldwell and James Morrison are also doubts for Sunday’s game after all three players picked up knocks in Wednesday’s 3-1 victory over Wales at the Aviva stadium.

Adam is suffering from back and groin problems, Caldwell has a hip injury and Morrison carrying a calf strain.

“We have a few problems,” said Levein.

“Gary Caldwell and Charlie look unlikely to play. There is also a little concern over James Morrison.”

It’s like any other game, I will wait and get an indication from our medical team just exactly who is going to be available and select players from there.”

“The good thing for me is that we have a particularly strong group with us and if I should miss a few players I should have able replacements.”

“Of the players who are injured now, I would say Gary Caldwell is the least likely to play.”
