Foxes remaining tight-lipped

by Setanta Staff , 06 November 2011

Leicester officials were remaining tight-lipped over a reported approach for Hull's Nigel Pearson after the 1-0 home defeat to Leeds.

Adam Clayton's super curling effort midway through the second half at the Walkers Stadium condemned the Foxes to a second defeat since the departure of Sven-Goran Eriksson, while speculation is rising over the possible return of Pearson, the club's title-winning manager in 2009.

But Mike Stowell, joint caretaker-manager alongside Jon Rudkin, was not willing to debate who his paymasters were courting.

"It's been two weeks now and there are two weeks until the next match. Who knows?" said Stowell.

"The owners are doing a good job and interviewing and taking their time. As long as they want us in charge, we'll take charge.

"We haven't spoken to the owners at all, but football continues and there are people to train.

"We have no idea (what's happening).

"You would have to ask the owners.

"I'm not getting on the subject of possible managers. Nigel wouldn't want us speculating about him. He's a very good manager and an excellent bloke."
