Leinster championship paths laid out

The Leinster Council have announced the venues for all games in the 2012 provincial championships.


Croke Park will host just one day of hurling action, the Leinster decider, while GAA headquarters will also host the football final and a couple of earlier double-headers on All-Ireland champions Dubln’s side of the draw.

Rd 1 – May 20
Westmeath v Louth (Navan)
Longford v Laois (Longford)

Quarter-finals – June 3
Dublin v Westmeath/Louth (Croke Park)

The Leinster Council has also completed the draws for its winter competitions, with Dublin set for a trip to Carlow in the first round of the O'Byrne Cup.

Other all-county clashes will see Meath face Wexford, Offaly take on Westmeath and Louth up against minnows Kilkenny. Kildare, Laois, Longford and Wicklow will all face college opposition.

Elsewhere, the Walsh Cup will see All-Ireland hurling kings Kilkenny face either Wexford or NUI Galway in their first game.
