Blackburn continued to be utterly abject with a 2-0 Carling Cup defeat to Championship side Cardiff City.
Goals from Kenny Miller and Filip Kiss saw the Welsh side through to their first League Cup semi-final for 45 years, and heaped more pressure on Steve Kean in the process.
The static Rovers defence was broken in the 19 minute when Aron Gunnarsson's pass found Miller, whose low shot squirmed under the legs of the onrushing Mark Bunn.
Rovers captain David Dunn finally called Tom Heaton into action in the Cardiff goal when he connected well with a 30-yard volley, but Kean was soon staring at a two goals deficit when Peter Whittingham corner eluded the Rovers 'keeper and Anthony Gerrard's goalbound header was finished off by Kiss.
Cardiff went in search of a third - with Kevin McNaughton sending a shot across the Blackburn goal - while Rovers' only second half shot on target came when David Goodwillie forced a fine save from Heaton.
