by JP Lonergan , 30 November 2011

The Carling Cup final will feature an npower Championship team after the semi-final draw pitched Crystal Palace and Cardiff against each other.

On the other side of the draw is the glamour tie, with Manchester City drawn to beat Liverpool after their respective wins over Arsenal and Chelsea on Tuesday.

Palace stunned Manchester United with a 2-1 extra-time win at Old Trafford on Wednesday night to reach the last four, while Cardiff had beaten Blackburn 24 hours earlier.

The Londoners will play the first leg at home before going to Wales for the return and the victors will face the winners of City and Liverpool, a tie in which City are the first hosts.
