Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti has insisted that he has no intention of walking away from the club.
A rapidly declining season for the Blues hit another sour note on Saturday as they were ousted from the FA Cup by Everton after a penalty shoot-out in the fourth round replay at Stamford Bridge.
With the defence of that crown gone and the defence of their Premier League title in absolute tatters, the Champions League has become even more important to the club and the Italian, Chelsea resuming duties in European competition when they face FC Copenhagen in the first leg of their last 16 tie on Tuesday.
And ahead of that trip to Denmark Ancelotti was asked if he would consider resigning. However, the former AC Milan coach responded: "No, not me.
"I don't have to consider my position. It is the owner (Roman Abramovich) that has to do that, not myself."
On the European challenge ahead, he added: "The Champions League is not easy, but it will bring a lot of motivation for every one of us.We have to have the right pressure. We have to play against Copenhagen. We have 180 minutes to win this game.
"Chelsea won't go out against Copenhagen. I think we have the possibility to win against Copenhagen."
Ancelotti’s words, meanwhile, have not stopped him from being linked with the vacant manager’s job at Roma after one of his Chelsea predecessors, Claudio Ranieri, resigned from his post with the out-of-form Serie A side on Sunday.
