Ally McCoist has confirmed he wants to tie down both Sone Aluko and Sasa Papac to new, long-term deals at Ibrox.
Aluko and Papac are only on short-term deals at the club until the end of the current campaign but the Gers boss wants to open talks with both players about extending their stay after being impressed with them this season.
McCoist told the January edition of Rangers Monthly: "I would have to say both Sasa Papac and Sone Aluko deserve new contracts. Of that there is no doubt.
"Sone has been a breath of fresh air. Sasa had a couple of periods out with illness but he is so solid.
"He has performed very well in all of his years at the club.
"He can play a few positions - i.e. centre back and in midfield as well as left back!"
He added: "So I would say that both Sone and Sasa are two players we're keen to hold onto.
"Of late Sasa and Lee Wallace have formed a good understanding and relationship on the left side because both of them can play left back or one forward.
"I think Lee in the last few games has played really well and it looks as though he is settling in now and enjoying it."
