Alex McLeish has confirmed that Ciaran Clark will join fellow Aston Villa defender Richard Dunne on the sidelines due to a knee injury.
The Villa boss revealed the news about Clark after his side's 1-0 home defeat against Manchester City on Sunday, which made it just two wins from the club's last nine Premier League outings.
McLeish had already admitted that his influential central defender, Dunne, is facing a minimum of a month on the sidelines after suffering a suspected dislocated right shoulder in the dying stages of the City game when he also lifted the lid on the absence of Clark from the squad.
The under-fire former Birmingham boss said that the youngster suffered a knee injury during Friday's training session and is also facing a lengthy spell out of action.
McLeish told Sky Sports after the City game: "It's part of the bad luck we've been having recently. As for Ciaran, he's tweaked a ligament and we will lose him for a few weeks. It's not an overnight return either."
