No training for Tevez

by Setanta Staff , 15 February 2012 No training for City star

Carlos Tevez was conspicuous by his absence from Manchester City's first-team training session on Wednesday morning.

The 28-year-old is back at the club following a three-month self-imposed exile in Argentina having fallen foul of City boss Roberto Mancini and the club's bosses following his refusal to warm-up during the second half of City's Champions League defeat away at Bayern Munich in late September.

However, while Mancini has now opened the door for Tevez to return to the first-team fold as City look to win their first Premier League title this season and the player's representative Kia Joorabchian confirming that he would apologise to the Italian, he must now play a waiting game.

Tevez has been given his own fitness plan in order to try and get back into shape for the rigours of Premier League football, while he was not included in City's European squad so is not travelling to Portugal for Thursday's Europa League last-32 first leg tie against Porto.

And, as City have no Premier League game until the visit of Blackburn on February 25 due to the club not being involved in this weekend's FA Cup fifth round, Tevez still has ten days before he could kick a ball in anger for the club even if his fitness levels are up to scratch.
