Marseille chairman Papa Diouf has stated that Djibril Cisse’s departure is ‘probable’.
Cisse is searching for a new club after ending his season-long loan to Sunderland, during which time he bagged 10 Premier League goals.
L’OM chief Diouf is ready to welcome the forward back at Stade Velodrome next season, even if he has declared that he is more likely to embark on another challenge.
Tottenham have been linked with the Frenchman, who has welcomed Spurs’ possible interest in his services.
“This player has an interesting level. He is a controversial character because of his behaviour and declarations, but we can definitely rely on the player,” Diouf told France-Soir.
“There are two options: Djibril finds a club, which is probable, or he comes back here. He belongs to L’OM. Having Djibril Cisse back will not be the end of the world.
“Some reproached us for letting him go. As a consequence we understand that his return would not be a negative thing.”
