Cisse welcome at Marseille

by Laurent Picard , 09 June 2009

Premier League target Djibril Cisse may return to Marseille according to Didier Deschamps.

L’OM's new manager Deschamps has hinted that former Sunderland striker Cisse could come back to the Velodrome, after spending the season on loan at The Stadium of Light.

The forward has recently been linked with Stoke, but France legend Deschamps has stated that keeping Cisse at the club is an option.

“You know, to me having Cisse back in the squad is not an issue at all,” Deschamps told La Provence.

“At least he is an international player, moreover he can score goals.

“We recently spoke on the phone and it was an interesting discussion. Still, he is under contract with the club, as a consequence he is due to be part of the squad.”

He added: “He is the kind of player who needs to bounce back.”
