Bayern Munich general manager Uli Hoeness says they are only interested in signing Schalke goalkeeper Manuel Neuer.
The Bundesliga side have been linked with bids for Fiorentina’s Sebastien Frey, Hannover’s Robert Enke and reports in the Danish press claim Stoke keeper Thomas Sorensen is also on Bayern’s short list.
It appears doubtful that Neuer will move to the Allianz-Arena with new Schalke boss Felix Magath resisting the advances of Bayern to land Neuer.
Michael Rensing and Hans-Jorg Butt are currently fighting it out to successfully fill the gloves of former Bayern No.1 Oliver Kahn, who retired last summer.
“If Schalke don’t want to negotiate, then we will just go into the new season with the goalkeepers we have,” Hoeness told Abendzeitung.
“Both will then have to fight it out to be the number one and that will be a healthy and fair contest.”
Stoke say they have not received an offer from Bayern for Sorensen who also denies any contact with the Bavarian club.
“I have seen what has been in the papers, but have heard nothing personally,” Sorensen said in The Sentinel.
