Blues win Dann race

Birmingham have beaten off opposition from Wolves to sign Coventry defender Scott Dann.

The Blues have paid an undisclosed club record fee for a defender and Dann has now agreed personal terms with the Premier League newcomers.

The 22-year-old was reportedly going to cost Birmingham £3.5 million as they look to strengthen the heart of their defence.

Dann moved to Coventry in January 2008 where he earned the captain’s armband last season, and ironically scored the winning goal against Birmingham at the Ricoh Arena.

The defender becomes Birmingham manager Alex McLeish’s third summer signing to follow Stephen Carr and Ecuardor striker Christian Benitez.

yaro... YOU'RE ON THE WRONG PAGE YOU PRAT!!! On the Dann front, Wolves fans... STOP BLOODY MOANING! I used to actually like wolves, but this season (their only good season in GOD knows how long) you all think you are the Number two midlands team behind the Scum!! I can see why ANYONE would prefer blues to wolves... We will be the ones fighting to secure safety next season whereas wolves will be relegated before April... You're not even on a par with the Baggies and THATS saying somethin! Just get over yourselves and realise that if he REALLY wanted to play for your pathetic excuse for a team, he wouldve turned us down! oh, and by the way, Mcsheffery has been injured for the best part of the season!

shame he has gone because we would treat him right and birmingham wont - lets look at mcshreffrey he has had 10 ganes under him this year - we should of had mcshreffrey in exhange plus 3.5 million - good luck city and dann.

OK point took-BUT-answer one question, if and it's a big if, he is a blues fan as you all say, why did he say that he prefared the Wolves to blues and he was having a medical with a view to signing, he "only" chose blues because of the extra money, live with it blues fans-you were his second choice- say's it all really!
Any way why do we want deperate "dann"? we have Stearman who is playing for the under 21s that in a way shows who is the better player? like Ray said-playing for the money not the shirt! mind you if I was to play for the blues (and at 60 I still could) I would want extra!

I would defy anybody looking for a new job/contract not to go for the highest offer. So to criticise him for going for the best offer is just wrong. Especially, as in his case, he is a known blues fan! That aside, if It had been a case of the shoe on the other foot and he went to Wolves, would we hear Wolves fans actually complain that 'He only came to us for the most money' I think not! Anyone will go for the best deal they can get; I would!
