Wolverhampton Wanderers are facing serious competition in the race to sign Crvena Zvezda midfielder Nenad Milijas.
The Black Country club seemed in pole position to sign the 26-year-old as reports suggested he was due to head to Wolves for talks.
However, it is now being claimed that Spanish side Racing Santander are looking to beat Wolves to his signature.
A delegation from Racing led by president Francisco Pernia are set to head to Serbia this weekend for talks with their counterparts from Crvena Zvezda.
Milijas is believed to have attracted interest from teams in Germany and Greece as well as Wolves, but they all could be beaten to the punch by Racing who have been recommended to the player by his fellow countryman Nikola Zigic.
Zigic spent last term on loan with the Cantabrians, his second spell at the club, and has been glowing in his praise of Racing to Milijas.
