Barcelona may have won the race for David Villa, according to Real Madrid sporting director Jorge Valdano.
The Merengues are apparently on the brink on conceding defeat in their attempt to lure Villa away from Valencia.
Barca are believed to have launched a £37 million bid for the Spain star, with young striker Bojan Krkic and defender Martin Caceres going to the Mestalla, whereas Madrid are not prepared to break another record.
"If Barca have offered 50 million for Villa, plus Bojan and Caceres, I would sell if I was Valencia because we're not going to try and top that," the Argentinian told Radio Marca.
"We have been in discussions over the last week and there were disagreements. On top of money, they want a player and that was causing problems.
"What had seemed to be a deal on track instead became twisted. We don't know why the price became so high."
Ibrahimovic and Diego Forlan, and he has declared that Manchester United and Chelsea target Franck Ribery has been priced out of the market by Bayern Munich.
“It’s a very difficult topic,” he said.
“Bayern have asked for unbelievable figures, which means that they don’t want to sell him.”
