Cesc Fabregas has expressed his disappointment not to have won any titles with Arsenal this term.
The Gunners skipper has also grown frustrated by his long absence after damaging his knee ligaments during the clash with Liverpool at Emirates Stadium that ruled him out of an important part of the Premier League season.
Fabregas has stated that being back with his national team, for the Confederations Cup in South Africa, is like a breath of fresh air following a disappointing season in terms of personal fitness and collective achievements.
The Spain international has hailed his national squad, who are genuine favourites to win the international competition.
“I have been through a season of injuries, without winning any title with Arsenal and I have not been happy with it,” Fabregas told Spanish press agency EFE.
“Coming over with the national team has been total liberation for me.
“I feel happy to be able to be playing in the Confederations Cup with this top-quality team.”
