Espanyol teenager Joan Angel Roman is on the brink of joining Manchester City, according to Spanish sources.
The highly promising 16-year-old midfielder has been in talks with City regarding a permanent move, with the Premier League club determined to secure his services on a long-term deal, according to Spanish newspaper ABC.
Primera Liga strugglers Espanyol have reportedly allowed Roman to discuss personal terms with the Eastlands outfit.
This would not be the first time that an Espanyol youth team player has moved to England, as Sergio Tejera made the switch to Chelsea in the recent past.
Meanwhile, the Blanquiazules are rumoured to have approached Chelsea with a view to welcoming young striker Franco di Santo on a loan basis next season.
