Various clubs have inquired about Karim Benzema, Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas has confirmed.
OL’s chairman declared a few weeks ago that a huge offer could rush him to cash-in on the promising Benzema.
But Aulas has insisted that the France international will still be a Lyon player, at least until the next World Cup, unless Real Madrid, Chelsea, Manchester City or United launch a mega bid.
The former G14 chief has revealed for the first time that several clubs have asked about the striker’s availability.
“Karim has said that he wants to stay another year with OL,” Aulas told L’Equipe. “But I think that Kaka or [Cristiano] Ronaldo maybe expected to remain with their former club.
“A tsunami called Real Madrid provokes reactions near Chelsea, Manchester City and tomorrow near Manchester United.
“As a consequence, saying that he is non-transferable is tough. Today, no doubt we want to keep him. There are more chances to see him at Lyon next season than to see him elsewhere.
“I won’t hide that he has been approached. For the moment, I managed to convince them [possible suitors] not to go further.”
