Gregory Vignal has confirmed that Stoke City have enquired about his availability next season.
Lens left back Vignal, who won the SPL with Rangers and plyed his trade with Liverpool and Portsmouth in the past, has been linked to The Potters and he has confirmed the Premier League side’s interest.
But the 27-year-old French globe trotter, who could become an agent once his career is over, is waiting in the wings and is yet to know about his future.
“Porto and Stoke City enquired about me,” Vignal told France-Football. “I am waiting for concrete offers to be on the table. The Portuguese have been following me for months.
“They met with my agent last winter. As far as I am concerned, I don’t worry too much. I am currently on holiday, waiting for something to happen. We have to remain patient. There are not lots of moves on the market.
“Montpellier remains my priority because it’s my city, where I used to live for 10 years and I know everybody at the club. They know that I could go for free, without any transfer fee to pay.”
