Hull boss Phil Brown has insisted The Tigers are yet to launch a bid to sign Michael Owen.
Tigers chairman Paul Duffen revealed on Sunday that the England international was on their radar, following their survival in The Premier League.
Owen is available on a free transfer, with his contract at Newcastle set to expire at the end of the month, and Brown admits a proven goalscorer is on Hull’s wish-list.
"It's something that has been sounded out as a possibility but, as yet, there has been no offer put to Michael,” Brown told the Hull Daily Mail.
"He has got a proven track record as a goalscorer and that's an area we are keen to strengthen, but it would have to be on the right terms."
