Maicon open to Chelsea switch

by Robin Hackett , 23 June 2009

Inter full back Maicon could be tempted by a move to Chelsea, according to his agent.

Inter president Massimo Moratti revealed recently they he believed the 27-year-old Brazil international had a 50 percent chance of staying with the Serie A champions after the player admitted he was considering his future.

And, although Real Madrid are thought to be leading the race, reports on Tuesday suggested Chelsea had made a £25m bid for Maicon after missing out on Glen Johnson.

Agent Antonio Caliendo said in Calico Mercato: “If an attractive offer comes in, well, in this world, everything is bought and everything is sold.

“I believe Ancelotti is one of Maicon’s biggest admirers.

“He is open to offers from everyone.”

He added: “Moratti is taking the right decision to assess the bids.

“Maicon is happy at Inter, but the transfer window lasts a long time.

“Something can happen every day, but for now there has been no decision.”

Bayern Munich are interested in current Chelsea right back Jose Bosingwa.
