The brilliant Brazilian Black House fighter finally gets his title shot at UFC 98, after winning 14 out of 14 MMA contests – including seven straight in The UFC...only two off of Anderson Silva’s current record.

Tito Ortiz got dominated by The Dragon, Rameau Sokoudjou was choked out, while Thiago Silva was left needing the smelling salts.

Machida has fought 15 undefeated rounds in The UFC, his elusive striking and underrated core strength ensuring he has barely ever been touched.

How to solve the Machida conundrum? That’s for Rashad Evans – the champion – to work out.

“I have spent my whole life waiting to become champion. That moment is finally here,” states the quite fearsome Machida.

“Rashad can’t defend my style. Nobody can.

“That is why I never fear my opponent. I know I work harder than my opponent.

“All he represents is a new challenge for me to conquer.

“If you conquer the will of the man, you conquer the man himself. That is my quest.”
