Shearer will stay regardless

Everyone at Newcastle thought after the Boro win that that was it. They thought they had done enough but they’ve had a big wake-up call.

Because of that win everyone thought the euphoria would carry them through. If you saw the Boro game, if Boro had taken their chances, Newcastle would have been in trouble.....Fulham did take their chances.

Now they find themselves in a situation where they have to win their last game and hope that Hull lose to stay up.

Ther future all depends on what the chairman decides to do in the summer because there was a lot of talk during the season that he was trying to sell the club.

He’s now said he wants to keep the club and get it back to where it rightly belongs, so it will all depend on what happens with him and what happens with Alan Shearer.

Nicky Butt needs to watch that game again

I don’t agree with Nicky Butt’s post-match comments about Newcastle being in control of Saturday’s game against Stoke at all.

Shearer needs to earn his stripes

03 April 2009

My old strike partner Alan Shearer will walk into the Newcastle training ground and most of them will know him as a player. He has been a good player but now he needs to earn his stripes as a manager, like Paul Ince did and Tony Adams.

Hughton, we have a problem!

21 March 2009

I've worked with Chrissy Hughton before and he worked for a long time with the defenders at Tottenham. He's a good coach but obviously he's struggling to get his point across here.

Bentley's the one I felt sorry for

02 March 2009

We’re disappointed because that we lost the Carling Cup final, but The Premier League’s the most important thing. But if there’s anyone I felt sorry for on Sunday, it’s David Bentley.
