Sorry to see big Kev leave, but the show must go on

Friday brings the news that our skipper, Kevin Nolan, has left the club to join Newcastle - so I want to take this chance to wish the big man well.

Like a lot of the lads, I’ll be sad to see Kevin go, I haven’t spoken to him about it but I think when a fee is agreed between two clubs sometimes your mind is made up for you.

I obviously had a similar situation myself at Portsmouth when joining Bolton, sometimes the time just comes for you to leave. The move has certainly given me a new lease of life, who knows what the future holds for Kevin?

I don’t think change does you any harm sometimes. From my own experience, a change of scenery can reinvigorate you and bring out the best in your football in a new environment.

But of course it’s disappointing to see a guy like Kevin leave. We just have to make sure we kick on without him, and focus on playing matters. Kev was a big character both on and off the pitch, but we’ll just have to fill that hole.
