Cowan, Rokocoko return for All Blacks

by setanta.com staff , 27 July 2010

New Zealand have made two changes to their side as they look to go clear at the top of the Tri Nations table.

The All Blacks face Australia in Melbourne on Saturday, with both sides unbeaten after New Zealand's two wins over South Africa and the Wallabies' sole success over the world champions in their only game in the competition so far.

A win in the Bledisloe Cup clash would put the Kiwis in a great position and coach Graham Henry has recalled Jimmy Cowan and Joe Rokocoko to the starting line-up in the hope of getting that victory.

Cowan comes in at scrum half for new father Piri Weepu despite the latter's fine showing against the Springboks the last day in Wellington.

Rokocoko, meanwhile, comes in on the wing after overcoming a hamstring injury. He is in for Rene Ranger, who misses out altogether.
Richie McCaw captains the side from the flank.

New Zealand: M Muliaina; C Jane, C Smith, Ma'a Nonu, J Rokocoko; D Carter, J Cowan; T Woodcock, K Mealamu, O Franks; B Thorn, T Donnelly; J Kaino R McCaw (capt), K Read.

Replacements: C Flynn, B Franks, S Whitelock, V Vito, P Weepu, A Cruden, I Dagg.
