QPR boss Neil Warnock is closing in on a deal which will see Blackpool striker DJ Campbell move to the club in the near future.
It had been widely reported that the Hoops boss had missed out on the 28-year-old, but instead, Warnock has resurrected the deal and will meet Campbell in Ravenna, Italy, this week with a view to completing the deal.
QPR are not the only team who would like to land the striker as West Ham are also keen and would have no trouble meeting the fee of £1.25m, which is enough to trigger a release clause in Campbell's contract at Blackpool.
Warnock is hoping he can complete a move for the player before West Ham, or anyone else, get chance to speak to him and try and tempt him to their clubs.
