Rory Delap has called for an instant response from Stoke after their disappointing defeat to West Brom on Saturday.
Cameron Jerome's late equaliser was in vain as Graham Dorrans struck in stoppage time to earn the Baggies their first win in 19 trips to Stoke.
The Potters now move on to an FA Cup clash with Derby, and Delap said: "We are desperate to get the win because we want to do well in the FA Cup again, and it's a chance to put the West Brom defeat behind us and get things back on track."
Delap spent three and a half seasons with the then Premier League Rams from 1997 to 2001 and is looking forward to renewing acquaintances.
"I'm looking forward to going back to Pride Park because I had a great time there as a player and I have a lot of connections there through my family," he said.
"I have already had a few texts from people about the game, so it should be good."
