Celtic have confirmed that new signing Rabiu Ibrahim has been granted a work permit to clear the way for him to make his debut.

The club have released a statement on their official website to confirm the deal has now gone through.

"Celtic are delighted to announce that Rabiu Ibrahim has been granted a work permit, allowing him to complete his move to the club," it read.

The 20-year-old midfielder agreed a three-and-a-half year deal with the Hoops last week and the Nigerian youngster joins from PSV Eindhoven.

He has starred for his country at U17, U20 and U23 level, and arrives with a big reputation as a star for the future.

Speaking after the deal was completed last week, boss Neil Lennon said: "We have been very impressed by Rabiu. In my view he is a highly-talented and exciting young player and someone who will be a tremendous addition to our squad.

"He is a playmaker, well-balanced and a very intelligent footballer. We are really looking forward to him joining us."
