Chelsea are close to signing Genk midfielder Kevin De Bruyne in a move that will see him loaned back to the Belgian outfit.
The Blues are ready to pay £6.7million for the 20-year-old, who will pen a five-and-a-half year deal before returning to Genk on loan for the rest of the season.
Chelsea have yet to confirm the deal but a spokesman for Genk has admitted that the player is in England on Monday where he will undergo a medical at the club's training ground.
"Yes, that is correct," the spokesman told Press Association Sport.
The move will come as a surprise to many after Andre Villas-Bos admitted that De Bruyne was not part of his plans. Indeed, the Blues coach revealed that Chelsea's pursuit of the player had nothing to do with him.
