RUSSIAN FOOTBALL

Setanta Sports is delighted to announce that it will broadcast the 2009 season of the Russian Premier League. The league runs from March to November and Setanta Sports will show two matches every week during this period. Live matches will take place on most Saturday and Sunday evenings.

The Russian Premier League is fast becoming one of Europe’s best leagues. Russia’s burgeoning success in football is evidenced by Zenit St. Petersburg’s victory in the 2008 UEFA Cup and Russia’s run to the semi-finals in EURO 2008, with a team mostly composed of home-based players.

Socceroo, Luke Wilkshire, currently plays his football in the Russian Premier League – Wilkshire’s team, Dinamo Moscow is one of the biggest and most famous teams in Russian football.
