Darren Bent has dismissed fears over his fitness after suffering a setback while on pre-season duty with Aston Villa.
Bent's season was abruptly ended in February when he ruptured ankle ligaments and while he made good progress it was not enough to enable him to be part of the England squad for Euro 2012.
He returned to action for Villa on the tour of the USA but a thigh strain has seen the striker back in the treatment room, raising fears that he could miss the start of the season.
The 28-year-old, however, insists he is raring to go and will be available for selection come the opening day of the 2012-13 campaign.
"I probably got the injury because I haven’t really done anything for four months," Bent is quoted as saying in The Sun.
"It’s just been good to be back among it after my time out injured at the end of the season. In the first session in pre-season I was absolutely buzzing.
"My main problem was the ankle but that’s completely healed now. That feels great and I am raring to go for the season."
