Lampard's agent denies exit quotes

by Michelle Fortune , 04 January 2013

Frank Lampard's agent has moved to distance himself from quotes attributed to him regarding the future of his client.

Steve Kutner was quoted on cittaceleste.it as saying that Lampard would be leaving Chelsea in the summer with a move away from the Premier League on the cards.

Lampard's contract at Stamford Bridge expires in the summer and the website claimed the England midfielder was lining up a move to join Serie A side Inter Milan.

"At this moment, Lampard is exclusively thinking about the present, in other words Chelsea. As for the future, the only certainty is that he will change team at the end of the season," Kutner is quoted as saying on Cittaceleste.it.

However, shortly after the story broke on Thursday evening, BBC Radio 5 Live presenter Mark Chapman issued an denial on behalf of the agent.

"Lampard's agent has just told us he 'hasnt spoken to anybody about Lampard's future and hasn't given any interview about it'," Chapman tweeted.

Lampard has yet to be offered a new contract by Chelsea and there is growing speculation that he will leave the Blues at the end of the season with LA Galaxy among those reported to be keen on signing the 34-year-old.
