Arsenal have been warned that David Villa will not be leaving the Nou Camp during the January transfer window.
Arsene Wenger is on the lookout for a new striker after allowing Marouane Chamakh leave on a six-month loan deal to West Ham and had been linked with a move for Villa, who has struggled to break into the Barcelona first team this season.
Indeed, it was reported at the weekend that Wenger had spoken to Villa about the possibility of him moving to London, but Barcelona president Sandro Rosell has warned that the striker will not be going anywhere during January because he is not for sale.
"I completely rule out the transfer of Villa during the winter market," Rosell told Catalan radio station RAC1.
"He is ours and we need him, there is a lot of the season left."
