They may be 12 points behind Manchester United, but Sergio Aguero believes Manchester City are very much in the Premier League title race.
With just 11 matches remaining, the reigning champions face an uphill battle to overhaul their neighbours but Aguero is calling on his team-mates to ensure history repeats itself.
Last season it looked as though United would ease to the title when they moved eight-points clear with six matches remaining. City, however, fought back - helped by United's collapse - and Aguero was the hero for the Blues as he scored in injury time on the final day of the season to cling their first Premier League title.
The Argentina international believes it is possible for City to catch United as long as they trust in their game.
"Let's take it step by step. Take the FA Cup, each victory means we are a step closer to winning the competition." Aguero is quoted as saying in The Sun.
"It's about keeping focused and trusting in our game. That applies to all our remaining Premier League games too.
"Can we still win the title? I'd like to believe so. We can't give up, even though it looks tough."
