Senderos will stay at Fulham

by Michelle Fortune , 01 March 2013

Philippe Senderos has signed a new one-year deal with Fulham.

The Swiss centre-back, who has made 50 appearances for the Cottagers since making the switch from Arsenal in 2010, had been expected to leave the club when his contract expired at the end of the season.

However, he has decided to stay and has sign a new one-year deal that will see him remain at the club until the summer of 2014.

"I'm delighted to extend my stay with the club by a further year," Senderos told Fulham's website.

"I've thoroughly enjoyed my time at Fulham so far and I love playing for this club.

"I'm relishing playing first-team football and I'm confident that we can continue our recent good form and end the season strongly. A top-10 finish is certainly achievable."

Senderos struggled to break into the starting XI at the start of the season, but has recently returned to the first-team, taking over from Aaron Hughes in the last four matches.
