Wigan manager Roberto Martinez has revealed Ryo Miyaichi is unlikely to play again this season.
The on-loan Arsenal winger did not start Saturday's FA Cup quarter-final win at Everton, but was introduced from the bench as the Latics ran out 3-0 winners.
The 20-year-old had to be stretchered off following his introduction and, while his scan results have yet to be published, Martinez believes he will not play again this season.
Miyaichi joined Wigan on a season-long loan deal last summer but his time at the DW Stadium has been blighted by injury as he was forced to spent three months on the sidelines with an ankle problem.
Callum McManaman was also injured at Goodison Park but it has been reported that his injury is not serious.
