Youngster confirms Rangers exit

Thomas Kind Bendiksen has confirmed he has turned down a new contract at Rangers and will be joining Norwegian side Tromso instead.

The Gers, managed by Ally McCoist (pictured) had been keen to keep the 22-year-old at Ibrox and had offered him a new lucrative deal in a bid to persuade him to extend his stay, having joined the SPL champions in 2007.

However, Kind Bendiksen has decided to return to Norway and join Tromso, putting pen-to-paper on a three-year contract as he looks to guarantee himself more first team football.

"I had a very good contract offer from Rangers but I refused it," Kind Bendiksen said.

"Tromsø IL is a good club and it has ambitions to be even better.

"I aim to play my way to a permanent place in the team and look forward to an exciting season, both at home and not least in the Europa League."
