Nikica Jelavic will miss Rangers' Clydesdale Bank Premier League game against Hibernian at Ibrox on Saturday.
Jelavic, subject of a failed bid from West Ham earlier this week, has failed to shake off a bug and won't be fit enough to take his place.
Rangers boss Ally McCoist will have to do without Kirk Broadfoot, Steven Naismith, Kyle Lafferty, Jamie Ness and Steven Whittaker who all remain on the injured list. However, new signing Mervan Celik is expected to be named in the squad for the first time.
Hibernian boss Pat Fenlon will be without Leigh Griffiths and Garry O'Connor. Griffiths this week accepted a two-match ban after television footage appeared to show him making a one-fingered gesture during his side's 3-2 loss to St Johnstone last weekend, while O'Connor serves a one-match suspension for reaching six yellow cards.
New signings James McPake and Tom Soares are both included in the Edinburgh side's squad for the trip, but Ian Murray and Danny Galbraith both miss out again with groin injuries.
