Rivals eye Best swoop

by Setanta Staff , 30 January 2012 Rivals eye striker swoop

Wolves are reported to be lining up a swoop for Newcastle striker Leon Best should Kevin Doyle leave for Everton.

Doyle is said to be unhappy at Molineux after falling out of the Wolves first team and Everton could be ready to take him to Goodison Park in a deal worth £6.5million.

Much will depend on Everton's attempts to land Nikica Jelavic from Rangers and if they fail to land the striker then David Moyes could turn his attentions to Doyle.

Wolves are lining up Best on loan should Doyle go but Magpies boss Alan Pardew is unlikely to sanction a deal unless he can bring in a replacement ahead of tomorrow's deadline.
