'Jackpot' chasing Premier prize

Adrian Lewis is looking forward to knocking over his Premier League darts rivals - starting with Phil Taylor at the Manchester Arena.

The World Cup winning team-mates clash on the opening night of 14 showpiece gatherings of the sport's elite and 'Jackpot' is determined to hit the ground running.

The Stoke thrower won a second PDC World Darts Championship title at Alexandra Palace in January but wants to go one better than his run to the final in the Premier League last year.

The 27-year-old recorded an 8-2 victory when he met Taylor in the opening week of the 2011 event, and also knocked out the 15-time world champion 8-3 in the semi-finals before losing to Gary Anderson in the finale.

"They were special moments to defeat Phil but it was disappointing in the end that I didn't go on to win the tournament," said Lewis.

"I'm feeling confident coming into this and my form's good. Winning the World Cup with Phil shows that I'm playing well, although we had a few rocky moments along the way, but I'm working hard to make sure I'm at my best this season."
