Henderson hails Suarez return

Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson believes the return of Luis Suarez from suspension has handed the Reds squad a much-needed boost.

The Anfield side are currently seventh in the Premier League table and four points adrift of fourth-placed Chelsea.

The Uruguayan striker was handed an eight game ban for racially abusing Manchester United's Patrice Evra but made his return in the 0-0 draw with Spurs last time out.

In the striker's absence the Reds still managed to reach the Carling Cup final and see off Manchester United in the FA Cup, but their league form suffered as Liverpool were held to a draw at Anfield by Stoke and slumped to defeat at Bolton.

Midfielder Henderson, who is keen to return to the starting line-up for Saturday's trip to Manchester United, believes the return of Suarez has provided his side with a welcome boost as they seek a top four finish.

"It's given all of us a boost having Luis back available," Henderson told the Liverpool Echo. "He's a massive player for us."

Suarez is expected to make his first start since completing his ban at Old Trafford on Saturday.
