Rangers rally to beat Dunfermline

by Tony Cuddihy , 11 February 2012

Rangers came from behind to beat Dunfermline Athletic 4-1 early on Saturday afternoon.

The SPL's bottom club took the lead on 16 minutes, having already struck the post and had a penalty appeal turned down.

Jordan McMillan, recently signed from Rangers, passed to Paddy Boyle. When Sasa Papac failed to clear the ball across the face of goal, Andy Kirk swept home.

Rangers were level within eight minutes.

Alex Keddie's attempt to clear in front of his own goal struck Maurice Edu and rebounded straight to David Healy for a simple tap-in from 10 yards.

Steven Davis hit the top of the Dunfermline crossbar from a Lee McCulloch flick.

McCulloch was becoming increasingly influential and, when Carlos Bocanegra headed a Davis free-kick back across the penalty area, the former Scotland international hammered the ball into the roof of the net from 15 yards.

Sone Aluko swerving strike appeared to elude Smith to put Rangers 3-1 up, before Kerkar sealed the win for Ally McCoist's men.
