Rafael Cabrera-Bello stunned Lee Westwood as he outplayed the Englishman to win the Omega Dubai Desert Classic on Sunday.
The Canary Islander's four-under-par 68 gave him a single stroke victory over Westwood and Scot Stephen Gallacher.
Westwood had seemed set for victory.
The Worksop golfer was one ahead with a round to go and stretched that to two when he holed a long eagle at the second.
However, he never managed to wriggle free of the group and was reeled in. The 27-year-old Cabrera-Bello's nine-foot birdie on the 17th proved to be crucial and he finished with an 18-under total of 270.
Rory McIlroy finished joint fifth, along with Soren Kjelden, George Coetzee and Scott Jamieson, while world number four Martin Kaymer could only finish in joint 13th.
