Pirlo quiet as Milan deny receiving bids

by Toby Davis , 23 June 2009

Chelsea have made no offer for Andrea Pirlo, according to Milan administrator Adriano Galliani, who has denied any bids have been received for the midfielder.

New Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti has been strongly linked with a raid on his former club to prise the Italy international away from the San Siro.

Reports in England claimed Chelsea were closing in on the midfielder, but Galliani brushed aside any such claims.

"We have not received any offers for Pirlo, not from Chelsea nor any other club," said Galliani.

"Pirlo is a Milan player," he added.  "If Pirlo leaves then we will see."

Pirlo, meanwhile, was evasive when asked about his future.

"I am a Milan player and that is all I'm saying," he said in Calcio Mercato.

"I don't know what will happen. For now, I'm going back to Milan and having a peaceful holiday."
