Rangers get the job done

by John Hartson , 08 April 2009

Rangers have done what they had to do with their win over St Mirren.

You would have fancied Celtic to win at home against Falkirk with top versus bottom in Wednesday's other SPL clash.

So Rangers had to come here [St Mirren Park] and win tonight.

It didn’t really matter how they played albeit Walter [Smith] would have wanted a better performance than at the weekend [against Falkirk].

The first half they were excellent but give St Mirren credit in the second half because they came out and gave it a really good go, and showed no fear.

They got the goal back and in the end they were pressing Rangers.

I wouldn’t say Rangers held on. I thought they were comfortable winners.
