Boucher should be banned

Bagalore deserve great credit for beating Kings XI, but the win was overshadowed by a hugely controversial incident.

Kumar Sangakkara was bowled by Anil Kumble, or so we thought, but the replays showed wicketkeeper Mark Boucher dislodged the bails with his gloves before the ball struck the stumps.

Sangakkara was given out as no-one thought there was anything wrong and no one can say if it had a bearing on the outcome, but it’s a disgrace.

Both bails were down before the ball struck and it’s not out. To be honest I think Boucher is a disgrace, he knows as a keeper what he has done. It’s not intentional, he did not mean to break the stumps, but he should have called the batsman back.

For me the people in charge of The IPL should give him a three-match ban or something similar. You have to be strong on things like this, he knows what he’s done and he had the opportunity to call the batsman back and hasn’t so he should pay the penalty.
